  • Important information relating to this application

  • This application does not imply the issue of a permit. You must not commence burning until your application has been reviewed and you have received a copy of the burning permit.

    You must notify Council of ignition time/dates via the website and have your nominated responsible person onsite throughout your burn period.

    No burning is permitted on Public Holidays, Weekends, Days of Fire Bans or other days as decided by Authorised Officer.

  • Enter the name of the person who will be onsite for all burning activity.
  • There must be a minimum of two persons (including Responsible Person) required to be onsite for the duration of the burn until it is fully extinguished.

  • Select the type of burning to be undertaken (select all that apply).
  • Please note fire fighting units must have a minimum of 1000l on the site of the burn from the time of ignition to full extinguishing. Please select all relevant options.
  • If other fire fighting equipment will be onsite, please describe in detail.

    1. Please search by hundred first – enter the name or number if known. This will focus the map on the hundred and display the hundred boundaries and sections within the hundred if the data is available.

  • If multiple locations are to be covered by the permit then select all locations. You can select locations via right-clicking on the map with a mouse. If using a mobile device you can scroll the map by placing two fingers on the map and moving the map.

  • This permit is liable to be revoked if the permit holder fails to comply with a condition of the permit.
    This permit may also be revoked in any other justifiable circumstance.
    The fact that the holder of this permit has complied with the conditions of the permit does not of itself relieve the holder from liability for any loss or damage caused by a fire lit under the authority of the permit. (Fire and Emergency Services Act, 2005, section 81 (13).
    Police and Authorised Officers have the power to direct a person to refrain from carrying out any burning activity regardless of permit status.

    I will notify Council of my intent to burn through the Councils notification portal or via phone prior to actual ignition.

    I will abide by the Conditions of THE FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES ACT AND REGULATIONS, 2005 and the conditions imposed on me as the applicant by the permit.

    I accept that failure to abide by the conditions of my permit may result in the permit being revoked and an expiation notice with the related fine being issued.
